Is this an OC or a CA?
MommaSammi wrote:I received a voicemail on Saturday. It is from one of the companies that I sent a PFD letter to.The voicemail, I believe, is in violation of the FDCPA. The voicemail states simply:Hi Samantha, if you would please give me a call back at 1-800-xxx-xxxx extension xxx. I'm calling about a letter you sent me. I hope you're having a great day.It does not give the name of the company or the name of the person calling. Am I incorrect in this?
I have not attempted to return the call. If I return the call it will simply be to state that I would like future contact to be made in writing only.Any input would be greatly appreciated!
MommaSammi wrote:I sent the PFD that Tuscani posted. In the letter, it states that the validity of the debt is disputed and the payment is just to make things easier. They get their money, I get it off my credit report. The amount is less than $50.
MommaSammi wrote:So, I ended up calling this woman back. They will only take a payment and update it to paid. I asked that all future correspondence be in writing and she said there's really nothing to discuss, that it's owed and they'll only take a payment in full.I thanked her for her time and we hung up cordially. Now, I did this a little bit backwards. I still have not DV'd the company. I got a little backwards about how to do things. Should I go ahead and DV them? I'm not sure what the next steps should be! : (
