Hey guys I wanted to get a little help from one of you experts out there; so here it is about me. I just recently ran my credit and my score came and for Transunion my score was 685 and my Equifax was 717 I have one NavyFed credit card with a 5k bal that i'm paying on time never late, I have a mortgage that i'm also paying on time never been late , I have a car note with my Pentagon Credit Union at a intreats rate of 3.99% never late. My question is what do I need to do to up my score to about the 750's because when i click on understanding my score they are telling me the reason my score is so slow is because of short account history and short revolving history but I want to be able to raise my score to the 750's so I can take advantage of the 0% intreats rate on a new vehicle any suggestions on what I need to do guys? please im at a total lost I need advice thanks in advance

Have you read: Understanding Your FICO Score yet? If not, it's a great place to start.
You mentioned having one NFCU card-- that's your only revolving credit card? You noted that it has a balance of $5k, but what's the limit? Your revolving debt ratio makes a huge impact on your FICO score.
How old are your accounts? What's your average age of accounts? What else is on your reports? Do you have any derogs, even old(er) ones?
Yes I have one credit card from navy fed with a 5k ball but my limit is 20k , I don't know what defogs is , but i did read understanding my fiche score I stated that in my posting its telling me short credit history and short revolving history
You may not need a 750 FICO score to get 0% auto financing, it depends on the manufacturer's captive lender. Are these definitely FICO scores (ordered from myfico.com or specifically stated as FICO)? The CRAs sell their own (we call them FAKO) scores that don't relate to FICO in any way, and lenders almost always use a FICO score, or a variation like the FICO Auto score.

A derog is a derogatory entry on your credit report. Late payments, charge offs, collections, etc.
Your utilization on this card is 25% which isn't terrible but if you can consistently keep it <9% on your monthly statement it will help you.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802, EQ - 10/10-813, TU - 10/10-774
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem".
Yes 685 transunion and 717 equifax are my real fico score numbers, but your telling me I may get a 0% intreats rate on a auto loan with my current scores?
Oh ok well in that case no I don't have any defogs on my account, and as far as my credit card utilization i noticed that it was a little high i'm working on paying that down to the recommended % witch is about 7% but do you think that alone will bring my score up to what i'm looking for? I really don't have anything else on my credit report as far as my home mortgage I brought a house about a year ago, I have my car loan witch is at 3.99% and my bestbuy card but i don't use that and my 20k credit card. Im not complaining about the current intreats rate i have but I would just like a to get a rough estimate on what my scores would have to look like in order to get a 0% car loan intreast rate or better yet what else do i have to do to raise my scores to about the 740 - 750 range. any other suggestions please feel free to help me thank you
derog, not defog.
Derog is short for derogatory, as in something negative that counts against you.
We just don't enough about your total credit profile to tell you that so-and-so will happen.
The best thing that you can do is look on screen 2 of your FICO score reports at the list of negatives (= derogs) on the left. The higher up on the list a factor is, the more it hurts. Tackle these for maximum score improvement.
You mention that you have high util. If that's listed first or second, you will probably get a good score hop if you can get the reported balances down low enough to have your util report as 9% or less. (Less is better.) If you have the bucks available, high util is the negative factor that is most easily and quickly eliminated by the consumer.
In my opinion, you are very well placed for a FICO score in the lower 700;s.
No derogs (reported 30/60/90+ lates, charge-offs, collections, or public records) place you into position for moving into the 750+ FICO scoring bracket.
% util is one of the few FICO scoring categories that has no historical memory. If you go from, say 50% one month, to <10% the next month, FICO looks only at your current monthly % util.
You also have multiple lines of credit mix, with two installment accounts in addition to your revolving account.
To break into the mid-700;s or above, you usually (not always) have to have multiple established revolving trade lines. FICO puts much more emphasis on scoring of revolving lines of credit (CCs) than on installment accounts. You may still be considered to have a "thin" credt file, making it hard to break into the higer FICO scoring brackets.
But to do this, and thus build for the future, you may have to bite the bullet, apply for at least one major CC, and take the hit with both a new inquiry, and a reduction in your average age of accounts. If the new card has a good credit limit, then improvement in your overall % util might immediately offset those impacts in the other FICO categories. No simple answers
Since FICO does not publish specifics of their scoring algorithms and bracketing, it is kinda hard to give firm short-term advice.
I doubt that there is much that can done in short term measures to leap into the 750+ score range.
If your sites are set on longer term FICO score improvements, then I suggest getting an additional major bank card.
thanks robert for the info; so basically although i already have a major cc with a 20k limit from navy fed credit union your telling me I have to get one more cc to break into the mid to high 700's? correct me if i'm wrong thanks
