Wachovia GW Response - What does it mean?

I sent a GW letter to Wachovia a few weeks ago asking them to remove 1 30 day late from 4 years ago.

I received the response below:

I didn't dispute the late. I simply asked for a goodwill removal. What happens next. Does this mean they definitely won't remove?

Sounds like the standard canned response.  Have read about people getting such letters followed by a removal.

I'd expect a removal, it's such a tiny derog.

I just don't get what they're investigating.

They're not--it's just that the letter went to the department that responds to disputes, and they just sent you the canned letter that lets you know that they got your mail. Your GW request is now somewhere in the pipeline, crawling along. Smiley Wink

Ahh ok. I guess it's at least good to know that they will respond to me.

What type of accounts are these for?  I have a student loan through them and have been denied twice...  Smiley Mad

My account is the overdraft credit line on my checking account. I still use the checking account, but haven't used the overdraft since the time of the late payment.

Re: Wachovia GW Response - What does it mean?

I received that same letter a few weeks back, when I was asking to have some late payments removed on a settled personal loan that they acquired when they bought First Union bank. I haven't heard word back to now if they denied the GW request or made the adjustments/deletions.

Although when I did receive 3 of CBRs after faxing a dispute about Identity Theft, the amounts of lates from Wachovia were still the same as they've always been. maybe they haven't gotten around to handling my request. But I think I sent them a second letter... just to be safe.

It would be nice if you got the same confirmation from sending a fax.  Ever notice how they never find a way of confirming faxes and they get lost all the time?
