A woman I work with received a Writ of Execution notifying her that her wages will be garnished. This action was initiated due to a credit card she had with Beneficial? I believe. Here in California they may garnish up to 25% of disposable wages. Who determines the percentage up to 25%? The court or the employer? It appears it's the employer because they receive the paper work that reports the amount to be calculated. I don't understand and neither does she. If anyone could give me some insight for her I'd appreciate it.
AND...
She also says that she is receiving some SEVERE harrassment over the phone by collection agents.
Thank you.
