Warrent in debt help

Hi! I have been reading posts here for years and appreciate all of the information that is shared here.
I have been working on rebuilding and am proud of the progress I have made.
I had a hearing last month about a warrent in debt. The original creditor was Santander. It was for a car I bought in 2010 with 24 percent interest. I made my last payment in October 2014. It was a double payment because I was behind. I was trying to catch up, but they repossessed a few days before Christmas. I was unable to pay it off and they sold it. They sold the debt to NCB Management.
NCB is who is taking me to court. I had them send me all of the paperwork that showed every charge and every payment made for 4 and a half years. My original balance was 15000. By 2014 I still owed over 13000 on a 6 year loan. The car was sold for 6500, so I am being sued for almost 7000.
I cannot afford this. I cannot afford to have a judgement on my credit report.
Please advise! Thank you!!

Re: Warrent in debt help

If the debt is legit, and thus you are likely to lose should the civil action proceed to trial and a judgment is entered, you might want to consider contacting the plaintiff and attempting a negotiated settlement prior to trial, such as a payment plan that will result in their dismissal of the current complaint, which will prevent a judgment as long as you make the agreed payments.

Re: Warrent in debt help

Seems kinda unfair the car value depreciates over time, yet your amount owed actually appreciates due to interest no?

But I guess such is the way of the banking system.
