I received an alert that I had a new inquiry and employer information on Friday (11/26). Wells Fargo credit card from what I can gather and Cingular Wireless as an employer. I did not apply for the card and cingular has not existed in 15 years although they were my employer when they changed their name to AT&T. I don't seem to have been approved for the card and the decades old information is puzzling.

1. Call Wells Fargo fraud dept. asap.
2. Call the credit reporting agency the inquiry popped up on.
3. Lock all credit reports (lock and/or Freeze) and put a fraud alert on them too. Even the secondary cra's.
4. Pull your Annualcreditreport.com reports. Comb through, look for fraud.
Be proactive now or you're liable to have more fraud...quite possible.

Thanks for the tips. TU seems to be the only one they pulled. WF has been somewhat helpful but still no ideas where the breach came from.
@incognitony is Wells going to remove the inquiry?

They said they would. I disputed with TU just to double down. Just a weird situation with the outdated information. I have changed jobs, addresses, and phone numbers since that time.
