I have a medical bill from 2 years ago that has been placed with a CA. This collection agency has reported the same bill twice on all three CR.  So it is showing that I owe 2 seperate CA but it is the same bill. Now they are reporting without a name or an original creditor name. The report is below:

The collection agency "667yc00000" was hired to collect a debt of $115 originally owed to "Not on Record"

They just placed a major derogatory on my TU with this new info. Why are they suddenly not using their name and not listing the original creditor?

It displays that way because of HIPPA and changes to the FCRA requiring the CA's to conceal information.

They are required to be prefixed with Med1

It isn't prefixed with Med1. Also they are reporting different account numbers for the same bill.

Dispute it.

The CRAs need to start practicing some quality control with the data they accept for listing. I call these "Microsoft error code" collection agencies. If every consumer hit with one of these disputes it, maybe the CRAs will get off their duffs and practice some quality control.

The exception of course are medical collections, which as another poster pointed out have to be redacted because of the new privacy laws.
