Since the debt was due the day of service and it was never paid that would make it the DOFD. 

 

 


That's what the signs in the offices all say. I can see how for medical payments that would be true. Thanks again.

I hadn't heard this one before, so I'll duck the medical debt aspect. I find it awfully hard to believe that if I left my CC in the wrong purse, and I had to run by the doctor's office the next day, I would be considered delinquent. But I can see how they might spin it that way.

As for delinquent non-medical debts, the DOFD should be the month in which you first became one month late. So if it's a CC bill from October 1, and you didn't pay it until November 20, AND if it's reported, the DOFD will be in November. Even if it goes to 120 days late, DOFD will be November. DOFD = date of FIRST delinquency.
