Which letter to use

I am trying to figure out what kind of letter to write to try and get a creditor to delete a debt that was a credit/loss writeoff for them. I had to file this on my taxes and everything. So I don't think a Dispute letter would work and a settlement letter doesn't seem fitting either.... The debt was $3500.00 and that is what they used as a writeoff. Any ideas or input would be appreciated immensely! This and the car loan are the last two things for me to deal with on my CR's.

Re: Which letter to use

Since they 1099'd you with the debt - a good will letter (yes, I reported it on my taxes and yes, I paid the IRS and everyone else on that amount, etc)  Grovel, appologize, and tell them how you have 'learned' from this experience..and almost beg to have it taken off.
