Who is Creditor Interchange?

Is anyone familiar?  They called yesterday for my DH, told me what they were calling for.  An $1142 balance on a CC they said.  I told them I would give him the message. They continued to badger me and I told them to send something in writing and hung up.  I asked him about it and he said he did not remember having a CAP1 card.  Apparently, they called again last night and left just a name and phone number on voicemail.  I called the number and it was them again.  I just received a call from them again and told them what DH had said.  They said he was "running from something".  I told them again to send something.  They said they had on July 12.   We have NOT received anything by mail at all.  They said bill was from June of 2000.  They asked what I wanted to do.  Did I have intention of paying.  I told them I was not paying anything and I doubted DH was just going to give away money without knowing what it was for.  He put me on hold "to get more info".  I hung up.  They called again within 2 minutes. (at least I assume it was them).  I did not pick up. *69 said last incoming call was 500000000.  Yeah, ok.  I will not pay them a dime unitl I know what it is for and I'm not sure I will pay then!

Tell them never to call you again unless you can verify the debt in writing.  It could be identity fraud.

Re: Who is Creditor Interchange?

they are one of the worse collection agency's out there. They called my Parents house my brothers house and everyone they could find to get someone to pay a collection i had with them. When i told them i would sue them they sold the debt to another CO and when i asked the new CO to validate they sold it to Fredderick j Hanna's crew.

Someone trying to steal his identity?  There is no CAP1 on his CR, but I guess if the alleged bill was from 2002, it may not be by now anyway.

Isn't that against the law?  I did not think they could tell anyone what the call was about.  I was a little surprised they told me as much as they did.  I would ask them to validate, but I have never received anything in writing and I doubt I will.  I think they will just continue calling and harrassing me.

depending on your state laws you may be able to record the violations. Telling you of a debt that belongs to someone else, refusing to send info in mail, threats, and such.

record a bunch if you can, then contact a debt lawyer. Some will work on contingincy.

If nothing else, set up to record, and start the convo telling them I am recording....

much nicer folks then in my experience.
