Who`s fault ?

HI guys !!
I need your help , to figure out whose fault was that . Please  give advise if you can .
I have unpaid bill in collection agency , its in my credit history now .
The bill came from the doctor`s office  , they   sent wrong info to my medical insurance and the insurance returned it unpaid . I don`t know how it could happened , because I gave Doctor`s office all the write info ,( bc the Hospital got paid .)
I did not recieve anything from the Doctor`s office or the insurance , saying that the payment didn`t go through , or I would have called and took care of that earlier .
Now its been too long ( almost 3 years ) since the day of service , the insurance said the doctor`s office should have claimed the payment within the first year  .
So , can I make the insurance pay ?
Is it Doctor`s office mistake ?

Thank you for any input .

Ps I`m new to the whole " credit thing " , have zero credit history and I didn`t want to start it with negative account .

Re: Who`s fault ?

You need to contact insurance company and get copy of your EOB and why it was denied. You need copies of everything they can provide regarding the claim.

Get a copy of all your records from the doctor's office.

Look all the information over.

If doctor's office had the correct information and messed up, you need to go in and have a meeting with the office manager and show the proof from the insurance company that the doctor's office messed up.

Re: Who`s fault ?

My husband had a medical collection on his reports --we never even knew --because the physician billing service misfiled. The insurance company, bless its heart, got with the billers and wound up paying. I disputed the collection as "paid by insurance", and off it came.

Whatever you do, make sure that you get an assurance from the physician's office in writing, signed by a responsible person, that all negative information will be removed from your reports, as none of this was your fault.
