Why do some accounts in collections show up as new accounts?(and other questions)

Quick question(s)....

My partner has had three "new" accounts show up on her credit report...all three being collection agency accounts, two NCO and one Midland. Why do these show up as new accounts rather than accounts in collections? Also I was wondering why these accounts are listed in her accounts section of her Score Power report, she just received the credit alerts from the Score Watch product.

And finally...she is not exactly sure what debt these are for. She made some credit mistakes in her early years and the DOLA for those mistakes have passed or will pass come Feb/March. Since these must be from these old accounts they are not allowed on her report once the DOLA of the original account has passed 7 (or 7 1/2) years, right? We are thrilled that her credit is finally cleaning up, especially because we didn't know about PFD a few years ago when she settled up some of her debt. I just want to be sure these collection agencies aren't going to continue to haunt her credit report.

They can legally be reported up until the fall-off date --- BUT NOT BEYOND.  We say 7-7-5 years because the creditor does have some leeway in when they consider it 'deliquient'. Only exception that I know to this is a medical account and that is 'the date of service'.

They can seem 'new'ecause they are with a 'new' CA -- DV them immediately!!!!

Thanks Lady_Scarlet.

Checking over her Score Watch it has been well over the 30 days since these were reported to her credit report and she just never noticed them because her score kept going up and up. Is she still able to DV since there is no clear 30 days. She hasn't received any letters or phone calls. Or at least anybody she has talked to. Once or twice of times I have come home to really mean messages on the answering machine but they didn't say what company they were calling from. They just threatened.

DV them!  within or outside of the 30 a CA cannot refuse to validate - just mention seeing it on her report versus their 'letter'

edited because even after 30+ years - I STILL CAN'T TYPE!!!!  I think faster than I can type.
