Widely differing FICO scores??

Hi - can anyone shed light on why credit scores across all three bureaus can differ so widely?  For example, my scores differ by 50 points across TransUnion, Experion and Equifax.

How can the gap be closed?

Thanks!

Re: Widely differing FICO scores??

To find that out, you need to go through each report with a fine tooth comb.

It shouldn't justify 50 points, but look at your inquiries. Usually when companies pull your credit, they only pull from one agency, thus, only effecting that score.

A 50 point difference is not all that unusual.

Re: Widely differing FICO scores??

Some tradelines may not report to all 3 or could be reporting incorrectly on one. I would do as Moobs suggest and go through each one to see what you can find.

Hi! Welcome! Did you pull your scores directly from the credit reporting agencies, myFICO (this site) or somewhere else? Have you read the credit scoring 101 thread in my sig line?

Re: Widely differing FICO scores??

Even if everything is reporting exactly the same (mine are except for a delay with TU and balance updates) - each ureau has their own algoithim which will generate a different score.
