Worth Disputing REcent Payments

I am in a DMP plan going on a year or so now...i've notice that the balances are getting lower but nothing shows up under the recent payment line (in either Transunion or experian) ...is it worth doing something about that?

Also, I have one CA account on there that is from an illegal Pay Day Loan.  I'm trying to figure out if it's worth disputing that too...i've paid back well more than the principal of the loan.

REally I just want to try and raise my score to find a new apartment.

Re: Worth Disputing REcent Payments

As long you are receiving statements from the creditors that your payment was recieved, then theres no need to worry about the recent payment line on your report.

May I ask what do you mean by illegal pay day loan?

Re: Worth Disputing REcent Payments

I haven't received anything from them, just one statement from my DMP.  But like i said, the balances are getting lower.

Illegal PDL is one that's unlicensed and i believe overseas and takes out outrageous fees.  According to what I read i'm only obligated to pay back the principal, which i paid back more than twice that.  This loan was for 300 and i paid about 700....they claimed though that i had owed like $1600 with all these fees and then referred to a CA.

Re: Worth Disputing REcent Payments

Hmm, if I were you, I would call the creditor to request paper statements or if you have online access, you can view the statements online. Not only will you see if they received statements, but I am sure you will get to view your interest rates and etc that's being applied to your DMP. I don't think I could trust a DMC's statements.

Wow, that is ridiculous. If you have the laws to back you up in the frivolous charges and stipulations on PDL, I don't see any hurt in disputing. Just be sure to have all the state and federal statues in writing for their viewing pleasure.
