Would getting added as an authorized user hurt me or benefit me in this case?

So my credit file is thin(3 cc, an auto loan, and a self lender). My wife has better credit than me, has some cc with low credit utilization, but overall has a high credit utilization rate.

If she added me as an authorized user on one or two of her cards were she has a (good)low credit utilization, would that benefit me or would the credit bureaus look more at her overall high credit utilization and that can potentially harm my credit score?

Welcome kikecopr!

No they will only consider the accounts you’re made an authorized user upon.

Just make sure she’s never had a late on any account that you’re going to be added to. And make sure it’s always going to have low utilization.

And if any of the accounts are less than a year old, it could cause a temp score drop if you don’t have any under a year old now.

Thanks for the input guys. I had my wife add me on two of her cards with 10 years of good credit history so that should help.
