advice please; should I apply for a cc?

That pulls TU only? Since the TWC was removed my TU file is compeltely clean. Although very thin. No negative TL's at all. I currently have 2 cc (1 as AU). 1 SL. My credit file is 5 years old. My newest acct was opened in 2005. My only problem with TU is hard inq. I have 13. What are the chances of me applying for a getting approved for a cc. I don't really want another major cc, I'd prefer a store card. My fico score is 674.

4 inq from 2005
7 inq from 2006
2 inq in 2007 (NCo and Cap1)

tuscani, what on earth is a Hooters CC? I only know of 1 hooters and being a woman, not sure I want that card.......lol

Also, should I apply for the card now or wait until a decent amont of my hard inqs drop off next year? I guess I'm looking for guaranteed approval; I don't want another hard inq on my cr with no cc to show for it.

Re: advice please; should I apply for a cc?

I got denied for a card because of too many inquiries but that was a bank card.

Do you have a Kohl's in your area?  One of their requirements is that you have to have two accounts, in good standing, on your CR that are both at least 6 months old.  That's what they told me when I requested reconsideration on a denial.  I don't know what other things they may or may not look at but I know a few people with less than perfect credit who have a Kohl's card.

You can use the card online but have to apply in one of their stores.  It's through Chase and they pulled an EX on me (I'm in the mid-west).

Yep, tell me about it. Same here. Smiley Sad I think if you wait 3-4 months with no new inquiries, they don't get as scared about the inquiries. I have 2 more months to wait and then I will try again.

Wells Fargo hit my Experian with an inquiry when I applied for a business credit card, just in case anyone is applying for business credit.

The card is legit and is a great novelty.. I like to use mine at the grocery store, church, school functions.. always get a laugh.

Oh.. and no approvals are guaranteed.. but you stand a very good chance at getting any of the cards listed.

Re: advice please; should I apply for a cc?

I got approved for a $1,000 Wells Fargo Financial CC with a score in the high 500's, I don't remember the exact number though.  They pulled TU, and someone actually reviews your CR so it is not an instant approval.  After one year they raised my CL to $2,500 without asking.
