cc not updating payment

One of my cc's (Tribute) isn't updating my ontime payment history, last payment posted on 3-15-08 what should I do? I've sent a email to the customer service dept and they replied saying that my complaint would be fowarded to the proper dept.  thats been 2 months ago but still no update never been late.

Re: cc not updating payment

Don't Dispute! Tribute may delete the account!!!!!!

It is not uncommon for a CC to take their time. HSBC is a great example of that. I would call Tribute again and again and again. Bug them until it gets fixed.

Remember, the account will rarely update when you pay. It will update typically a week after your statement date. Other CCs like HSBC update whenever they want to. Smiley Tongue

Re: cc not updating payment

We're in the same boat with our SL (was horribly past due, caught up last month). Our SL servicer says that they updated the Big Three on May 31, but the CRAs haven't updated as of 6/11. :/

And SW stinks on ice, so I'll not know if our FICO's gone up unless I shell out yet another $11!!! Smiley Mad

Re: cc not updating payment

I don't know that Tribute would delete the line, since it's still an open account (at least I'm assuming that it's open.) All the posts I've read about deletions after disputing were on closed accounts.

This being Tribute, though, there's no telling!

OP, I have had an ongoing problem like yours, but with J.Crew. They actually tell me that they update every Friday, but that it takes the CRA's 60-90 days to update. Puhlease. That does not happen on any of my other 14 open accounts. I even have an account that has been closed for two years that updates every month!

I have had to dispute twice with the CRA's to force them to report a $0 balance. The second time, EX refused to accept the dispute, saying it had already been disputed (different balance, ding-dongs), but the dispute on EQ was enough to do the trick. All three CRA's updated, which goes to show that it was J.Crew's problem all along. Good luck!
