Are cell phones considered a written contract?
Just curious what the SOL is. I've gotten myself into quite a bind. I have a verizon co from 2007, which is unfortunately, mine. They're sending to collection. I'm of course sending a dispute letter to the CA. Not that I have any hope of course, just trying to delay until Verizon will hopefully respond to my request for a PFD. Just kinda hoping that the sol is up soon, so I might have better leverage to encourage a PFD. In case it matters, I'm in VA.
So, any clue what type of account a cell phone is considered?
IMO, written.
I'd fire off PFD after PFD after PFD and it will take many tries. Try planetfeedback.com too. They helped me with a Verizon Wireless PFD. DW had a Verizon landline go away after sending a PFD (but they sold it).
I have read MANY times that SOL falls under federal laws and SOL is 2 years.
I too had a Verizon cell account that went to collections in 2005, however I didn't pay the CA until about 9 months later. I tried Planetfeedback to see if they'd be willing to give me any love on removing all the lates on the CR but it didn't work - last week I mailed a GW to the Folsom, CA address as another poster had good luck with that address.

I've read that too, but I guess I'm relatively alone on this one. The 2 yr mention comes from 47 USC Sect. 415, and dubbed as part of the Telecommunications Act of 1938. This particular section was last amended in 1974. Because of the age of the statute, there is no applicability to cell phones. Also, there are several successful lawsuits beyond the 2 yr SOL by telecoms or those representing.
