So as of now I have 5 credit card, I am trying to figure out how to use them on what situation to maximize my benfits.
Amex PRG 3% flight, 2% gas / Dining 2% supermarket (not including Costco / Walmart, or other super stores)
Amex Everyday $1000 2% Supermarket (Not including super stores)
Citi student forward $1300 1% reward
Wells Fargo student $800 1% reward
AmazonStore $800 5% reward
I am trying to build my reward points on Amex, for future usage is my main goal. But I am trying to figure out when and where I would use the cards at, and this is what I have figured out so far.
Main cards for places that accepts Amex
Amex Everyday for Everything besides Flight / Gas / Dining, will use for super stores such as 1x walmart and 1x costco, or Homedepot, personal shopping
Amex PRG for 3x Flight / 2x Gas / 2x Dining only
Side cards for anywhere that does not accept Amex.
Citi / Wells fargo for anywhere that does not accept American Express.
*2ndary option*
(How ever I been thinking about opening Thank you preferred to maximize the points 2x Dining / 2x Entertainment for movies, amusement parks, museums, aquarium, and zoo)
(I dont think I will be accepted for this card lol, I opened up 3 credit card within this week, Gold, PRG, and Everyday, however I mistakenly opened Gold instead of PRG so I had to cancel, and was recently denied for Freedom card...but I been with citibank since 2012..? so maybe I can ?)
Amazon:
Amazon store card
How does it look? any advice or changes I should make to this plan ?
Also any other card you might recommend besies Citi Thankyou Preferred ? I am looking for non annual card, since I already have PRG
I think you've got it down (although I would not open a new card at this point).
Basically, it's Amazon for Amazon (the 5% is too good pass up) and Amex (as you divided it) for everything else that will take Amex.
Congrats on the new cards!
Thank you
very happy to get it ![]()
so yeah, i wont be opening more credit cards, for a long time, any other opinions on this plan i squeezed out lol
