Re: credit inquiries?

Probably not but I've read in some cases it may jack the rate/APR

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: credit inquiries?

They may matter but normally you will have some form of finance manager at the dealership looking over your credit file.

Im 21 and had about 5K CC debt and 10 or so inquires and many new CC accounts on my report. All of my scores were 680-700. I brought my last 2 years worth of paychecks.

I was approved for $22,750 to buy a mustang with 10% down @ 4.5% APR.

The bank made it clear they wanted 10% and were taking no less for the loan to go through. So assuming you have decent credit and employment history I would plan for at least a 10% down payment.

It's possible but cerditors vary.  Verify with the creditor you intend to use for your auto loan.

Re: credit inquiries?

CJ, maybe I can help. I'm 19 and on my second auto loan in the last year and half and I also work doing vehicle loans for a bank so I can give you the best of both worlds.

As for being approved for an auto loan your entire credit file will play a factor into your approval/denial. Inq, DTI, AAoA, installment history, etc.. So for me I bought a 29K truck 6 days after I turned 18 with a co-signer in the 700's and this was the very first thing on my credit. 4 months later I refi'd by myself and got it to 4% with that and one credit card reporting.

Then last month I traded in my truck and bought a new Silverado for 34K after everything was settled @ 3.74% and going to refi @2.4%-2.7% this week with the cards you see below in my sig. Due to the fact I am young is a negative factor but the fact that I've shown banks I can handle large amounts of credit this last year has really helped my approval odds.

I would make sure that the dealership you apply at has a good relationship with more than one bank that way they can work all angles to get you approved for you loan. Also Loan to Value will play a role in the approval so be sure you get the best deal possible.

Visit the Auto loan section of the forum and look at the pinned topics, those will help you get approved and also get the best price for the car. Let me know if I can help you with anything else!
