Can anyone tell me why they think my scores dropped w/ EQ because of a closed mortgage that is transferring to another lender? My score dropped 12 pts in 10 days through EQ and the only activity was just that. I have excellent credit w/ the other 2 files. Thanx.

Could be -

1) New account showing

2) Inquiry for the new mort (did the lender pull EQ?)

Or could be just about anything. Sorry to be vague but the whole scoring system is arcane.

You think that's the reason, but it probably isn't to tell you the truth.  Scores fluctuate all of the time.  We wouldn't be able to pinpoint the reason if we don't have more information.  Any inquiries made?  Any higher balances on your accounts?  LOC reductions? Maybe there's something in collection.
