i hate CCC

So I applied for  capial one card, with the app i put down the gross household amount which they requested so i put down what i and DH make added up together, well i call cap one to check on my app it was approved, good new, bad news they only giving me $300 limitSmiley Mad
with what me and DH make you think we can get like $1000 cl. well i suppose i will just charge the card for a few bucks each month and pay it off before the apr kicks in, of course in APR was 14 or 19%, cant remember which card i picked out. oh well,

not so much a question, just upset i cant get a high CL, my HSBC went from $300 to $500 last week, i've had that card since july 07, soon enough that CC will start helping my fico right?

Re: i hate CCC

Just keep utilz low and maintain accts in good standing, after 6-8 months positive payment record most major CC companies will give voluntary CLI's.  This should also keep your scores moving up as well.

Re: i hate CCC

I was just curious about you jump in credit scores in one month.  As of March 27th my Experian score was 634.  However, it could not have taken into account that as of March 15th I had paid of completely my debt management plan with CCC.  That was about $8,000.  On March 31st I paid off my remaining credit card debt of about $5,000.  The only was I did this was with my tax return money and a bonus.  The only debt I have now is my mortgage and student loan.  How quckly can I expect to see an improvement in my score.  I am so tempted to pay for a score report, but I figure I need to wait until at least the end of this month.  I do subscribe to score watch so I was disappointed that nothing is showing up yet.

Re: i hate CCC

I can take weeks for everything to show up on a report.  SW is slow, but at least it will tell you that there has been a change, and you will know if it is worth pulling everything!

Have you pulled your free annual reports (no scores) yet?
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: i hate CCC

My rule of thumb is that, if I took actions in the first three weeks of a month, I wait until the end of the following month to pull a score. If I took action during the last week or so of the month, I wait until the end of the first week two months later. In other words, if I paid a CC down from 77% to 12% on the 26th of April, I would wait until around June 7th or so to get a score.

Re: i hate CCC

Thanks for the feedback.  I figured it might take a while, but of course I want it ASAP so I can refinance my mortgage.  They are so quick to give your FICO score a hit, but not so quck to bring it up.
