my father asked me to check on this collection letter he got and it is very sketchy.

i went on the site, entered the correct info but it gives me an error like it doesnt exist.
i searched the # listed on the letter and result was little to no info at all.

Not sure what you think is a scam - it's simply a debt collection service.The 800 number you listed is on their "about us" page: http://amcaonline.com/faqs.php
I assume the letter you have provides some info on the debt? Is the debt his?
If you need more info simply call the 800 number, provide the account # in the letter and see what they say - if it's a "scam" then just hang up but I highly doubt it's anything but a collection service trying to collect on a deliquent account.

The have an organization validated SSL certificate for their website (Green url). Unlike tradional certificates, they went through organization validation which validates their organization and business practices. Just an FYI, im a software developer
