missed payment - not really.....

hi
Recently I made an on time payment on a home equity line of credit, unfortunately I was $8 short of the amount due. I wasn't made aware of that until the 30 days had passed, and although I immediately paid the difference this is showing up as a late payment. The bank says that this is 'automatic reporting' and there is nothing they can do about it - is there anything I can do to let those looking at my credit report know that this is not a true late payment, rather it was 'short'?

There isnt anything you can do except contact them again and ask them to remove the late.  You can also try a GW letter.  There are many people here who have done this and plently of examples.

You could be one cent short and most creditors would mark it late.
