The exception is when a CRA receives notification of a fraud alert (FCRA 605A) or a request to block information due to identity theft allegation (FCRA 605B).
Under FCRA 621(f)(1), the CRAs are required to refer such actions to the other major CRAs.
That is an unusual process, and I can see how it might lead to much confusion on the part of the CRAs in subsequent inclusion or removal of such reporting to their credit files.
I agree. You need to call the CRA to clear this up. They are probably just as clueless as you are!
