I need help with two nfcu questions.
1. i am negotiating a settlementent for a nfcu charge off. they agreed to the dollor amount but said they do not remove tradelines completely. they say it will be reported "paid in full charge off" but i want complete removal. has anyone had any luck with getting nfcu to delete tradelines? also i have a letter saying " the account has bee placed in the Reserves for bad debt". what is that?
2. can anyone explain why nfcu sold two credit card debts (7500 total) to CA but kept a line of credit debt (8000)?. all accounts are about the same age , i was wondering if the line of credit was different or if there is something i should know before talking with them.
how hard should i push for complete removal?
Its just a more technical way of saying they charged-off the debt. A charge-off is the shifting of a debt from a receivable asset to a non-receivable bad debt in their accounting ledger thus reducing their tax obligation and more correctly stating their current assets.
Consumers usually, in their requests for deletion, only request deletion of the adverse information, and not the entire account.
Significant if the account has an age greater than their average age of accounts.
Deletion, if the information is accurate, is purely at their discretion. If the account is now only a charge-off, they could place it for collection, adding an additional derog to your CR. What they may do if you dont accept their current offer should be a consideration.
If they sold the account, it would no longer be open credit with them. No credit available, and no debt reportable.
Are you sure the account was actually sold to the debt collector, as opposed to being assigned to them only for their collection on the debt?
how do i know for sure if it was sold? nfcu is reporting it as sold to a new lender. also mcm say that they own a different debt from ge money. i asked several times if they owned or collecting for the debt. they say they own it. how can i know for sure?
both nfcu and mcm say they do not delete tradelines is that true should i keep asking?
