Hello all this is my 1st post on this forum and it's great to be here. I have some ?'s. My score drastically went down 35-80 depending on bureau for no apparent reason. I have not opened/closed any account have not payed off any account ( actually i have but it's not reported yet ) nothing new...nothing negative posted from last month to this months and they go down. would anyone know why?

thanks

Edit - also get this..my fico score itself went up by about 20 points. makes no sense to me.

Re: no changes to report but scores go down

Welcome to the forum! I am new as well.

In the interest of not giving out faulty information, all I can suggest is that you check your report. Go over it with a fine tooth comb. The answers are usually found in your actual credit report. Let us know what you find out.

Re: no changes to report but scores go down

Was it your FAKO scores that went down?  If so, don't pay any attention to those scores.  What really matters is your FICOs and it sounds like your FICO's went up while your Fako's went down.

Just yesterday through truecredit my EQ went up 8 points and NOTHING changed, but I chalk it up to being a BIG FAT FAKO!!!

9/26/08 TU: 528 EQ: 558 EX: 560
11/7/08 TU:584 EQ:601 EX 600
7/21/09 TU:636 EQ:626
12/27/11 TU: 675 EQ:680

Re: no changes to report but scores go down

FAKO scoring models do not use the same standards as FICO scoring models do.

An action that may cause your FICO to increase, would be something causing a FAKO to decrease.

Never pay attention to FAKO scores. My TU FAKO just decreased by 35, for no reason. However, when my CC reported a higher balance shooting my util UP, my FAKO increased.

Re: no changes to report but scores go down

you say not to worry about fako scores but why not? I know many lending agencies, for instance, chase uses your transuninon score only. So why not be worried about them? forgive my newbness.

Thanks

Re: no changes to report but scores go down

Your FICO increased 20 points, but your FAKO score went down? Don't waste a second fretting about it. There's a good reason they're called FAKO's.

Re: no changes to report but scores go down

Chase may use Transunion but they are pulling a TU FICO score - not a FAKO.
