pfd response

Should I request full deltion again or will this acomplish that?

dP,

I have received your letter requesting the account listed with our office to be deleted from your credit file upon receipt of payment in full.  In order for our office to accept this agreement, balance in full will need to be in our office no later than July 6, 2007.  If balance in full is received by that date, our office will notify the 3 credit reporting agencies of said payment.

As you know, we are bound by law to acquire written permission from you before we are allowed to disclose any information regarding your debt with our office.

ps letter is signed by rep of CA.

Can you afford to PIF?  If yes, take it.

If the PFD agreement is in writing and on the CAs letterhead, then yes!  One other thing, do not accept one that is emailed, some posters here have stated some of the CRAs might not accept it thinking it can altered.

Re: pfd response

Should I send the payment using certified funds?  If yes then what are accecptable forms of certified payments?  Also what about CMRR, would that be necessary?

PS The spellcheck on this board is screwy!

Re: pfd response

If you pay them with a certified check or money order once they receive it they will immediately update the CRA's and have the item deleted. If you pay by regular check you will have a 10 day hold while the check waits to clear.

I don't like the sound of this. They mention your letter requesting deletion, but they don't explicitly offer deletion in clear and unambigous terms. All the above statement offers is to mark the collection paid once you pay.

I would NOT accept this as a PFD.

Is what you posted the letter in it's entirety?

I was thinking the same thing...was afraid to say it.  Agree 100% needs  to be clear that they will delete.

Re: pfd response
