"Worst Delinquency" notation on EX reports

I just pulled a EX report from myFICO and noticed something that wasn't there the last time I pulled a CR (in January).  What is the "Worst Delinquency" box all about?  (it's under account details by your payment history)  They can't report neg info older than 7 years in this box can they?  Does anyone know why this was added or what it's purpose is?

Thanks.

Okay, this is what I have found thus far. I went into my latest report from EQ and clicked on one of the accounts (any will do). In that little popup screen is the information on Worst Delinquency. Click on the "?" next to it and this is what it says:

This is the most delinquent payment reported on this account. This could extend beyond the 7 year payment history.

If you don't find this payment listed in your recent or 7 year payment histories, the impact on your score is probably minimal.

How can they get away with this?  Reporting on late payments more than 7 years old is an FCRA violation.

Re: "Worst Delinquency" notation on EX reports

Aacckk!  That's what I was afraid of.  Could this be similar to the idea that we have some behind the scenes flag that says we've defaulted that never goes away?  Sorry I don't recall where I heard this theory or what it was properly called.

Maybe they are just letting us have access to information that was already there (but invisible to us)...
