I was wondering if someone has ever heard of a stopping the reporting of late payments as a goodwill? I have been paying a sallie mae student loan for quite a while, and the last time I was late was in feb of 07, in 2006 I had 6 other late payments, and the total lates that are being reported over the life of the loan are 17. This is one of the main catalysts in my sub 600 credit score. I have about $980 left to pay on it and would like to find some way to get it cleared up before I start looking for a house in several months. My question is has anyone ever heard of a company stopping the reporting of late payments as a gesture of goodwill for their customers, and if so, how would I go about requesting that? Also, what kind of forms could I use to ask Time Warner to stop reporting a collection that i have on my credit report. I have paid them in full and in fact have re-initiated my service with them last june. Anyone have any experience with either of these? Thank you for your time.
