state tax lein

Hello. I am new to this forum..and have lots of questions that I will be asking. I've been reading and you guys are all so helpful! The first thing I want to ask is about a Georgia State tax lein. This is from almost 10 years ago, but was just paid and released almost 3 years ago. (I didn't know about it until 3 years ago and paid it as soon as I was contacted). Can I write a letter to the court house listed on my credit report asking them to remove it? Has anyone ever had one removed prior to the 7 years?

My second question is, is it possible to have late mortgage payments removed with a goodwill letter??

My last question (for now!) is..I was reading about planet feedback. Everytime I go to that website, it says it's no longer available. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there another similar website or should I just use snail mail? If so, who should I address it to, what person?

Thank you all for you help and patience with me!

Re: state tax lein

I'd be curios to know that answer too.

You say that you have a release of lien? If it's been released it'll show up on your CR right along with the tax lien in the public records section.

Honestly, I'm not to sure how to get it off your CR, other than to raise a dispute with the CRA, but don't go there until someone verifies the best course of action. I need to know what that course of action is as well.

Can't help you on the 2nd question. A GW might be in order, imo.

Finally, I just tried planet feedback. Worked for me:

And welcome to the forum. A wealth of info is here, with many knowledgeable people. You can always find an answer here. Smiley Happy

1.) You can try a GW letter! It might be tough though.

2.) Yes!

3.) I was just on the site and it seems to be fine.

Re: state tax lein

The state tax lien stays on the reports for 7 years after the date you paid it all off. Very tricky to remove. Do not try to dispute this item until you have done exhaustive research because all you will succeed in doing is to verify its existence esp with Experian. Good luck. The courts do not verify this info the bureaus use E-Oscar or third parties which is NOT legal. Good luck.

Re: state tax lein

What is E-Oscar?

I recently sent faxes to the 3 CRBs to have California tax lien removed, because it was filed against me for incorrect taxes owed (roughly $1200). After I filed the proper Amended Returns and paid of the tiny true taxes (around $250), I thought I was in the clear, because essentially the lien was filed incorrectly.

The 3 CBRs all verified the loan, so I'm going to have try a GW letter with the Franchise Tax Board in Cali, but they have to be in the best of spirits to make an adjustment.
