Re: true credit cancellation

It's tricky, they don't make it easily available on the website. It's part of their new "Financial Service" venture. Here's the link. Smiley Happy

Re: true credit cancellation

I signed up through National City, even though I don't have a National City account.  For the life of me I can't find the link I used to sign up, they must have it burried also.  I haven't received my first bill yet but I the signed up through them because the second account (for my wife) was half price.

Re: true credit cancellation

I'm very happy with my TC reports. They have allowed me to do a lot of credit improvement and clean-up. I just chortle at the scores and move on. They're about as useful and interesting as all the ads the have on the site.

Re: true credit cancellation

That's interesting.  The True Credit product I use is actually called "Identity Protect for National City Customers and it doesn't have any advertising on it at all.  It does have all the FAKO's you want though. Smiley Happy  Oh yeah, and the bad advice.

Re: true credit cancellation

The reports are NOT accurate.  Ive been disputing an issue with a credit card company that my card hasnt been updated on True Credit since  April. And another card which was never put on my report. My credit scores havent changed in almost a year.  When viewing an individual credit report for TransUnion I did find that both cards were on my report and being reported monthly. As soon as I found that, not even worrying about the other agencies, I immmediately began looking for a cancellation number which led me to this site. After reading the horror stories about True Credit and the discrepancies I discovered I found a phone number on this site and called to cancel. Im sure customer service was in another country but had no trouble and wasnt even asked why I wanted to cancel. We shall see if this works. in the mean time Im gonna go into my account and remove the credit card I have on file so they cant try to use it if this cancellation was ignored.

Wish me luck.

Re: true credit cancellation

stay away from true credit.  they are horrible. read the blogs to get 2nd opinions.  they process your credit card before the free period is up. then when you try to figure out how to cancel the service (before the period ends) there is not place on their website to tell you how to do that. you call the 800 # (hidden on site)

when I spoke to the agent after waiting 6 minutes on hold, she cancelled the account then said the system was updating and I had to wait for another 2 minutes. Then she came back and said the account was cancelled.

2 weeks later I saw a billed for $14.95 on my credit card for the service. I painfully called and went the above AGAIN and they said the account was NEVER closed.  I gave them the person's name who helped me and they said they had no record of my calling in to close the account.  I was forced to pay the fee again and they said they would close it this time. good LORD.    I wrote letters to the company, called Citibank to contest the charge, wrote the authorities, etc..

so stay away from this service. also, note that their FICO scores did not even come close to the ones reported (at the same time) from Experian or Equifax.  complete disconnect....

Re: true credit cancellation

I think they try to make it hard to find, it is: (800) 493-2392. Also to find it on their site, log on then goto help and then contact us.
