@mfinsmi1 wrote:@Anonymous thanks for the insight - that might be my reason then! because like i said after investigating i saw no change and after a week there still has not been any decline in fico . And i had a couple of disputes wrap up last month - one that resulted in those 8 defaulted student loans to be deleted.. Appreciate you for this!
Did any update as not being in your favor? This is what happened with DH and we are still gathering more eveidence to prove our case. It was a Credit Card that was opened in his name and was never his. This was back in 2017 right before we married.
@RobynJ so i finally got an update on myfico today with an actual change not just an alert telling me my score went up - a negative item was removed in addition to the student loans - idk why but vantage dropped my score for this - myfico went up again today LOL .... maybe like with fico scores vantage has different scorecards??? i doubt it but who knows ... but much better to see a negative item removed and my vanatage score drops 70 than see a negative item added hahaha
also i do know that sometimes with vantage when a dispute completes and updates the account there is a temporary drop for the added remark for no reason - ive experienced this with vantage equifax before
Same experience. 75pt drop across all vantage scores but no change on fico. Today all of a sudden my vantage scores shot up 75pts. Thinking there must have been a glitch
@Kidcat wait this happened to you too!!! thats crazy
10/5/22 update: hey all i finally figured out what caused the 75 drop - and i know it makes absolutly no sense but i finally found the ONE CHANGE that occured .....since myfico alerted me that a negative had fallen off i started to look at payment history something i did not do when i initially investigated.... this one account had 6 late payments that turned posiitve (u might have seen me post about it elsewhere) . I think vantage messed up it probably should have been a +75 not -75 but whatever . it really boggles by mind how the algorithim works lol but again im just happy to have closed this mystery for good
VantageScore 3.0 was seriously flawed (and still is to this day) ..
Thus they had to create VantageScore 4.0

@M_Smart007 What is your take on VS4? Do you feel it is a closer equal to Fico or is it still very flawed like VS3? What have you found that it weights more on utl, aaoya, aaoa, aooa or......?

are there any public sources for 4.0 Vantage? Or do they all come from lenders?
I can't speak for VS4 weighting but IIRC it does use trended data. And I'll second Gatorade's question about available sources besides having an account with Synchrony. My father's experience with Synch for the Verizon Visa is enough to make me not want to deal with them.
Aspire and Fortiva also give vs4 score
