I'm still not sure why this score is worse than Merrick (let alone why my TU lags behind EX & EQ)
Merrick is Bankcard-enhanced: all bets are off when we're talking industry options, but we've theorized that it probably counts payment history on credit cards far harsher than things like tax liens as an example... also that installment history in general is likely depressed as well vis a vis car repo and mix of credit possibly too.
Someone with strong revolving history compared to the rest of the report likely should be higher on a BC industry option comparing within major FiCO revisions (Wally TU '08 to Merrick TU '08 BC for example)... and also with Bankcard Enhanced scores tapping out at 900, all other things being equal for gold-plated folks or evenly distributed mixed files like myself, it's likely higher for that reason too.
TY! That's a very good explanation of the difference. I'm guessing my high balance SLs or the housing collection (will fall off in Sept from TU!) have more weight in TU08 than TU08 BC.
I'm really curious as to why TU is my worst score, though. My scores on EX and EQ are over 700. I have more HPs on TU, but that wouldn't account for a 40 pt difference.
For me tu is highest even though it has many more inq than my eq who knows what algorithms they use.
669 > 671 I need to pay down sine cards but glad its going up not down

40 points is beyond the design goal within a single major version: if your TU '08 (from Walmart / Discover / Barclays) is 40+ points different than your EX '08 as pulled from here, then personally I'd go grab both reports from annualcreditreports or the bureaus directly and do an incredibly close read which includes term, dates of last activity, and every other silly minor detail on the report.
FICO has stated that the variation within a single major version should top out around 30 points between the bureaus assuming the information is identical.

up 6 to 692 for I haven't the faintest idea why. Looks like the Walmart report is dated 5/2 that would've had 1 additional tradeline (no change to AAoA) but the recent Barclays inquiry got missed.
Expecting to take a dip in the next month or two: three new accounts dropping my AAoA down to 21 months (possibly 22 or 23 by the time they report, either way <2 years) and the inquiry from Barclays to move 0->1. Was hoping to get that inquiry close to isolated but oh well.
Thanks Rev! And congrats on your progress, as well. I wasn't expecting an almost 40-point increase. One thing that I appear to have gotten lucky with is my Sears card upgrading to the mastercard version a few weeks ago in April. My Sears account had a 30-day late in February 2010. Well, after the upgrade, the 30-day late disappeared from my TU report. It's still showing on my EQ and EX, though.
I have only one scoreable INQ on my TU report, from my Sallie Mae app in February. If not for that INQ, maybe I'd be at 850? I can only dream!
Wow; I forget Duchess, what's the rest of your file look like in terms of tradelines and age? 4 year old 30 day late and north of 800 on a FICO '08 is something I wouldn't have even expected: I know the general theory is 30 day lates aren't huge penalties (and FICO '08 has a clause to ignore isolated lates anyway in theory) but this is still an interesting data point to me.
I have a mortgage reporting for 20 years, 1 current car loan and 2 PIF car loans, along with numerous (more than 15, don't know the exact number off hand) credit card accounts. My AAoA is 11 years. I have 2 brand new credit cards reporting (Sallie Mae and Wells Fargo - both just 3 months old). My oldest account reporting is 25 years (4 Amex cards, 2 opened in 1989 and 2 opened in 2012 - backdating awesomeness).
It's interesting that my EX FICO '08 score is also just north of 800 at 804 and that's with 4 more 30-day lates from April of 2008 reporting, along with the single 30-day late in February of 2010 reporting. My TU report is 100% clean, so the only thing impacting my score is the 2 new accounts and the 1 INQ. I can't figure out why the 30-day lates are not showing up on TU. Like I said, the late from February 2010 was reporting on TU but suddenly stopped with the Sears mastercard upgrade. The 2008 lates never showed up on TU even though the accounts themselves did. It's definitely strange.
Thanks Duchess; going to reference this post in another 6 years or whatever when my derogatories vanish and I have 10 years history (probably 9 years AAoA by that point) and see how I compare without having the 20 year mortgage on the assumption we still have '08 scores available. Nice very detailed benchmark and I greatly appreciate it!

holding steady at 714.. ![]()
