My closing was moved up from the 23rd to this Friday! Just waiting on Capital One to send the letter about the attempted fraud to the lender and the stress will be over.
awesome!!!
Checking this out for the first time!
We put a contract in on our house January 19th. We are at the underwriting process! According to our contract, we have to close on or before Feb. 28th. Friday, we called our agent and she set closing up for Thursday, the 19th.
So many questions! Is this possible with still being in underwriting? We still haven't heard the words 'cleared to close.' We also have a issue with weather. We have a nice layer of ice on everything! I'm just worried the bank will have fewer employees, the repairs won't get done to the house we are buying, and closing won't happen Thursday. Why would she set the closing up for Thursday, if it wasn't going to happen? Any adivce would be great!

Our agent made the original appointment for closing long before I got my CTC. I think they were just trying to lock in the date with the title company. Agent doesn't really have any control over whether you close or not. We went into contract officially on January 18th and I got my CTC last Thursday, so I don't see why you couldn't close on Thursday assuming you get the clear.
We are set to close next Thursday, 02/26!
Have yet to go into underwriting, we just heard from the loan processor yesterday (first introduction). Needless to say, we are very, very, VERY nervous about the timing of everything
Closing. We signed our loan documents in January, I think.
We got our appraisal back Monday, the 9th. It came in less than asking, so we had to do some negotiating, and then went to underwriting Tuesday, the 10th.
The previous owners still haven't done repairs as of Friday. We are suppose to do our final walk through tomorrow at 5.
When we talked to our agent Friday, she had talked to the bank and the bank said they were looking for it to come out of underwriting Friday and if not Friday, then, Monday.
We haven't heard from our LO.

Awesome Congrats!!
Got our appraisal report in this morning...house was appraised at the same price that our offer was. Totally stoked! So now waiting on the LO to order loan docs and proceed from there. Scheduled to close on the 24th so hopefully things will go smoothly. *fingers crossed*

How could you sign the loan docs before the appraisal and before going to UW? That doesn't make any sense. You don't sign the loan docs until after you've passed through UW and all the contingencies are complete, I thought.
