My loan officer gave me a GFE for the settlement costs. She said that I'll get the final HUD settlement statement the Friday before we close. She said that there will be adjustments for the prorated taxes and some items that we split with the sellers. Does anyone know what those items would be? I think my realtor told me we'd split the title insurance. Is there anything else that is typically split?
It depends by state - each state truly is different.
Some items commonly split are: escrow/lawyer fees, title insurance, transfer taxes, recording fees, mortgage tax (some states), settlement fees.
