Walt K, you make a good point. We had not planned on buying down. If that was the only option it would be better to do as you recommended or use the monies toward appliances etc. I believe that the over all avail. credit is slightly less than 10K. We've come a long way from having these cards maxed out - to having a 0 bal. on some. Basically we had multiple cards with small limits.
