Mortgage late fee question

Hello all!

I have a question about mortgage late fees. I currently have a $58.00 late fee for paying my mortgage on the 17th of this month. I have paid the regular payment for the month but my question is if the $58.00 late fee is not paid will my mortgage be considered 30 days late? How does that work?

Thanks for any insight!

Possibly.  I would pay it ASAP just to be safe.

Agree that it is best to pay it as soon as possible, but I don't think it will count toward you being 30 days late.  When I had all my credit woes in 2008, I fell behind on my mortgage among other things.  Once I paid everything current (or thought I did), several months later I noticed that I had fees that were still outstanding on my mortgage.  They had been sitting there for months and everything was reporting fine.  I paid them off immediately afterward, but had no adverse reporting from having not paid the fees.  Whether that's because the fees don't count toward the payment being late, or whether that is because BofA was being nice to me, I don't know.
