But, I've gotten a quote from a broker I feel comfortable with, so I'll certainly be using that to me advantage. If they can't meet or beat his terms, then they're not getting my business. I'm not someone who can be bullied either, which seems to be what they count on.
There are people who actually have a smooth, easy mortgage application process with NVR. But they're pretty rare!
I got the call from my LO yesterday. She says she "checked" with her head of underwriting and there was "no way" we could get an approval for an additional $2300. Looks like I will be taking my business elsewhere along with NVR's $7500 in seller assistance since getting a higher mortgage amount approval is a better deal.
Good for you! I've decided I don't want to pay any closing costs, and I'm currently throwing a fit about us having to pay full price for something that was listed as an incentive on their website when we signed our purchase contract. Again, we don't have as much leverage as I'd like, but I'm hoping by pointing out their incompetence and lack of attention to detail, I will shame them into giving up some more. lol
