We are looking at applying for a home loan in April this year. Our current bank only has a few locations near where we are now. I'm looking at going with a national bank with locations in the area we plan on moving to. Will opening up a new checking and savings account now and closing the old ones make a difference in applying for a mortgage in April? We are saving our downpayment in our savings account now.
