Here are mine and my husbands scores. I was in the mid 500's and have worked hard to pull it up over the past 9 months. I know there are more factors than just scores, but do you have suggestions on who we should apply with? Looking at FHA, loan amount max of $350000 (probably closer to $300000). Combined annual income of $155000. Looking at doing a new build, not a construction loan but buying a spec home with a developer. Will be a 6 month build time so may be able to save even more towards downpayment, but consevatively will have at least 3.5% down. First time home buyers, so curious as to best place to start.
I would work on finding a good mortgage broker specializing in FHA loans.
Finding a good one that will stick with you and coach you along is worth the weight of gold.
How much down are you putting in ?
If less than 20%, remember that MIP and PMI will be more expensive each month with an FHA loan than a conventional loan.
