I just filed my last two years tax returns and I owe back taxes. I am looking to buy a house ASAP. Can I get a mortgage now if I set up monthly payments? Any advice and suggestions are appreciated.

Yes!! Set up an installment and pay on time for 3-6 months , FHA requires 3 on time USDA needs longer

does it matter if you pay via payroll or is it better to not pay the installment via payroll?

I would not pay it via payroll, looks too much like a garnishment
