Re: The Official NACA mortgage thread

honeik,

I received a welcome packet from Citi, and I've called them every day for updates. The file is still with the UW, but I did find out that they've reveiwed the appraisal and a few other things. Of course, I only know this because I called Citi. Haven't heard anything from my NACA counselor. It looks like everyone is just waiting on the UW to clear the file.

Now, I got 2 welcome packets from Citi, they had different interest rates, but both said that my first payment was due Feb. 1st. I contacted NACA and was basically blown off (the counselor told me that the rate was my "annual rate", which didn't make sense). Called Citi to ask about it and they said the forms were wrong and the number in their system showed my actual rate, which is what matters. I've accepted the fact that everything that can go wrong in this process, will.

Re: NACA Customer Service

We attended the Home Purchase Program back in Dec. 12, 2009. We gave our application that was required before we went out. We were told we will recieve our Member ID within 1 week after the workshop. This Members ID is important as this will allow us to log in and schedule our first Home Buying comsultation, which is the second step. It will also allow us to upload our misc. needed files and pay membership fees and credit report fees. Well, 1 and 2 weeks passed and we didnt get any emails regarding our membership id so we called and called but we keep getting into a loop where no one answers.

After calling so many times and can't get anyone on the phone we tried again but this time we pressed the Home Savers option and we got a hold of someone. We explained our situation of attending a Home Purchase Program but that no one has yet given us any membershop id. She then emailed us an ID and password to log in. At the same time she sheduled us for a telephone interview. When our telephone meeting finally came this person who called us found out that we were in the Home Saver Program and Not in the Home Purchase Program she refused to help us but she said she will correct it so we will be in the right Department. She said we will have to log in again and re-schedule and so we did.

Two weeks later our telephone schedule came again, but again it was found out that our file was still in the wrong Department so they still couldnt help us ! This happened to be Saturday, we were lucky that there was a local Saturday workshop that was happening 1 hour away from our place so we decided we will go there and seek some help. But by the time we got there it was already closed and they wont let anyone in but there was a NACA member that was outside that also happens to be a NACA Mortgage Consultant. We explained our situation and said he will try to help us fix our situation so it will be in the correct department ( in the Home Purchase Dept. instead of the Home Saver Program Dept.)A couple of days later ( Monday) we got an email from him saying that he cant access out files and so he couldnt help us. We are now still trying to find out who we can talk to and correct the problem but theres only two telephone numbers available to call and no one answers them except the Home Savers option !

Its now more 1- 1/2 month and we still havent gotten to step number 2 and we also havent spoke to any home buyer mortage comsultant ! Please help !

Re: The Official NACA mortgage thread

T_C, thanks for the update. I received two packages from Citi with two different interest rates as well but I didn't pay it no mind because the total payments didn't change. You will definitely know when you receive the commitment letter. My counselor informed me that my file is with Citi underwriters and that things were moving rather quickly but we'll see. Thanks again.

Re: NACA Customer Service

r04drunner, are you able to go to your local NACA office to find out what is going on?  I was told the first intake meeting for home purchase needs to be in person afterwards there can be phone meetings.  What office are you working with?  Maybe someone on the thread has a contact at that office???

Re: NACA Customer Service

We attended the workshop on Dec. 12, 2009 at Center of Hope Community Church, 8411 MacArthur Lvd., oakland, California.

We meet a NACA Mortgage Consultant outside the San Leandro Home Purchasing Program seminar on Jan. 23 because we

try to find help. We were outside because unfortunately they wouldnt let us in because we came too late.As it turns out this

mortgage consultant cannot do anything much either because he said he cannot access our files. He told us to call the same

numbers that no one answers !! They have this 1-888-302-6222 or a local (510) 652-6622 but you cant get anyone for the Home

Purchasing Program ! Doesnt matter how much you try because it will keep asking you for your local office which no one picks

up or to a customer service that hangs up on you when it tries to connect !  We havent really went to the local office because no

one is there - at the place where they hold the  seminar ,Center of Hope Community Church , 8411MacArthur Blvd., Oakland,CA ??

Re: NACA Customer Service

Hi All!
I have a quick tax question...

Does anyone know if we get credit for the money we put in to buy our interest rate down? Also, When closing at the NACA office I did not get a copy of our HUD-1 with signatures. Has anybody sent theirs off without signatures??

Closed 11/6/09

Re: The Official NACA mortgage thread

Hello, I do apologize on our behalf. I am here to help try to resolve all issues. If you would please email me at edited

NACA has made a lot of changes and has expanded the company. There are new updates on the www.naca.com website as well as the phone counseling centers has changed as well to to increase our customer service and to help with being more efficient and effective. You can also give a call to 888-404-6222 member services or 888-302-6222

NACAs Home Save Program is nationally recognized as the most effective solution for homeowners with an unaffordable mortgage providing such solutions nationwide as the largest such organization. The NACA solution is to restructure the existing mortgage by permanently reducing the interest rate to achieve an affordable mortgage payment. A mortgage restructure is not a refinance that requires eligibility for a new loan (i.e. high credit scores, high property values, etc). Since a restructure reduces either or both the interest rate and/or mortgage principal on the existing first mortgage, there are no mortgage criteria eligibility restrictions. If the homeowner is unemployed NACA provides a forbearance with a minimum payment until that have steady income to have their mortgage restructured. The only homeowners not eligible are investors who own other properties. The sole exception to this requirement is when a homeowner who lives in the home they want to restructure and the occupants of a second property are immediate relatives and they can document that they are such relatives and they live in the property.

Re: The Official NACA mortgage thread

Please continue to fax updated pay stubs to your NACA file using your NACA fax coversheet, until a proposal is sent to your NACA Web File. Once your proposal is submitted to your NACA Web File, please accept the offer. Accepting the proposal sends a notification to the Servicer/Lender that you are in agreement with the offer and you would like to proceed.  Servicers/Lenders track the acceptances from borrowers which is what notifies them to mail your modification documents. If you want to reject the proposal or have questions or concerns about your proposal, please go to your NACA Web File and schedule an appointment to speak with a Negotiator.  Scheduling an appointment means you control the day and time of the call, but also requires that you be available to receive our call.

Please make sure to access your Web File and read the Servicers/Lenders response before making a call or scheduling an appointment. You can view NACA's submission to your Servicer/Lender, proposals, and additional steps you may need to take by going to www.naca.com.  Select NACA Members Web File/Status.  There you will be prompted to enter your NACA ID and Password.  If you do not remember your NACA ID or NACA Password, click on “Send Me My NACA ID or Send Me My Password.  The system will email you the requested information.  Should you have problems accessing your file, please Contact our IT Department at 888-404-6222.  If you still have problems accessing your Web File, call the Member Services number at (888) 404-6222 to discuss your Servicer/Lender response.

will be asking specific questions about your reason for not accepting the Servicers/Lenders proposal.  We will also escalate any non-acceptable proposal or denial when it is not in accordance with Servicer/Investor guidelines.

If you need additional help, I am here as well edited.
