"Thought is to never apply online, always apply with a human being."
This can be tough if you are active duty military - as my dh is. Often times you are aren't located in the same place as your bank/credit union (due to many moves), and USAA (common lender for military) is internet based.
What are the big advantages to applying in person? Should we make sure to get preapproved with at least one local bank/lender? Thanks!
You don't need to apply in person, just apply with a human being vs. entering in all personal information, social security number, etc. into an online website.
Phone, email, fax or in person when applying with a human being. For active military I've found email usually works best since people in the service often have odd hours, especially when overseas.
