VA loan post CH7 Question

Hello fam. I have a quick question. I heard I can use my VA home loan 2 yrs after my CH 7 and was wondering if its 2 yrs from the filing date or discharge date? Thanks.

Re: VA loan post CH7 Question

It's the discharge date compared to the date of closing on your new VA loan, but if the bankruptcy was caused by extenuating circumstances (prolonged unemployment, medical, etc.) + you've re-established credit then it can be just a 1 year wait.  VA even allows less than 1 year in the rare circumstance that it was caused by the failure of a business you owned.
