I would love to hear if anyone else has had difficulty with Alliant Mobile Deposit. I spoke with Alliant and they shared that they were overdue for an upgrade in terms of mobile deposit technology.
I've seen several concerns on their Facebook page of people taking clear photos of their check, only to have it go to review every time, and have a processing delay due to the image clarity and the need for a person to review it manually.
4 of the last 5 times I have completed a mobile deposit, it has gone to review. These are small amounts and I know it's due to the technology and photo image.
I have a new iPhone, keep the check image within the green boundaries, have the image very steady, and there still is an issue with the photo. I also use the slider to darken the image so that the numbers show up more clearly. CSR mentions that they have had a number of image capture issues and will be updating their technology.
When I view the image after the photo is taken, I can see all of the information clearly.
I love BECU because their mobile deposit works seamlessly and the credit to your account is instant. Works every time on the first try.
My BECU app takes the photo in color, and Alliant captures the image in black and white, so I don't know if that could be a factor.
I know that Alliant is supposed to have instant account credit as a nice feature, but mine seems to go to review status often when using mobile deposit.

That would be a concern for me. I make deposits like that all the time to my bank and it works like a charm. It is so convenient to use mobile deposit.

I did get the mobile deposit to go through one time without it going to review by re-taking the photo a few times, but have not been able to do so since. The deposits have been for very small amounts.
I took the photo for yesterday's deposit about 5 times and it went to review each time, so I gave up and just let it go to review. It would be nice to be able to use this feature, though.
I too heard about the instant credit. My very first mobile deposit went into review. I just thought that that was because my account was so new (just in my first month).
I am switching my main banking from Citibank to Alliant, but I have to say that I really like Citibank's app far better which accounts for some of the misgivings I have about the switch.

Thanks for your feedback, minski. That is so interesting - my first mobile deposit is actually the only one that didn't go to review!
I took the photo twice on my first one and it went in without review. Weird.
Just received a SM from Alliant in response to a question, and they said they are currently working on a new mobile application at this time, although they do not know when it will be completed.
Would love to have anyone's suggestions on how you have been successful in using the current app without having your items go to review.
I noticed the reviews you speak of. I'm going to deposit checks at my local bank and just transfer them for now. Yeah not convenient, but I've not ever done mobile check deposit before yet so it's not a huge inconvenience Looking forward to the new app and no bank trips!
Completed a small mobile deposit yesterday into Alliant checking, and it went to review status instead of being deposited.
Just now deposited a small amount into savings, and it went to review. i hope they fix this soon.
