I got a letter in the mail today from Bank of America saying if I open a checking account with them and direct deposit 4k$ in 90 days they will ATTEMPT (lol) to give me 300$.
I've only had credit unions like BECU, and now CCCU down here in NV, so I'm pretty loyal to credit unions.
I've never had a checking account with them so with that said how is BoA? I think that I'm gonna go ahead and open anaccount with them tomorrow as 300$ isn't a paltry amount to get for free. It also might (im sure it will) open up new avenues for credit cards with them because I'm a customer.
I have 2 checking accounts and 1 savings with them...never had any issues.
I have had love hate relationship with BoA. I opened their checking account 3 times total over 15 years. Last time I had checking with them was few months ago and closed it after several months. They never gave me any trouble such as freezing or closing accounts without notice - like Chase did. To sum it up, I think their branch service is inferior to other national banks. The clerks seem overworked and there are always long lines. When you call them expect to wait on the phone but you always get to talk to someone in United States and not on another continent. Their online app I feel is better than Chase and Wells Fargo.
I had BoA CC with them for 10 years, never any issues. Service again always in United States unlike my Chase card which I closed recently. If you open savings or checking account with BoA you get 10% more cash back. So now I get 1.65% and 3.3%. Invest and you can get over 5% cashback.
