Canvas (Public Service Credit Union)

Anyone know anything about them? They're a Colorado CU and they have a reverse tier savings account that starts at 3.25% up to $2K and has three more tiers as you go up, ending at .30% at $50K+.

I am thinking about getting rid of Alliant and my DCU's $1K is maxed so I don't have another account that earns more than .25% on savings.

Was looking to start a relationship with a local CU ahead of a 5th card app later this year. Their Platinum Elite MasterCard has a 6.99% APR and would be a good addition to my wallet and I kind of like the design too.

I don't know if they're Chex sensitive or who they might pull though?

I was looking at their website today but don't have any experience with them. I was thinking about sticking with another local CU. I can literally walk to one of their branches.

Re: Canvas (Public Service Credit Union)

Yeah we have a Canvas branch like 3 miles down the road.

They seem like a decent CU. Their app even looks pretty good.

I was going to join Space Age FCU but their technology is very far behind and I know I wouldn't be happy with them.

I just want a decent savings account that isn't with Alliant. I went to deposit my stimulus check last night and was shocked they had a 1PM cut off. I wouldn't have gotten my money til Monday so I canceled it and put in 1stBank who didn't have a cut off til 9PM. Got $500 around 9 and the rest of it released early this morning.

I am getting rid of BBVA and possibly Alliant so I have room for a new one.

Re: Canvas (Public Service Credit Union)

When I lived in CO that CU had strict membership requirements so I was not eligible (before it was canvas). I went with premier member credit union instead as there was a branch on Arapahoe and I was working in Centennial

Yeah plus it's probably not a bad idea to have a relationship with a local CU other than SSFCU.

Yeah I was looking at Premier as well but Canvas has better rates on their cards and savings.

I live in Littleton and there is a Canvas branch here so I would be surprised if I'm out of their area but I do see their website says to contact them to get specifics about their "qualifying areas."

I was also looking at Elevations but their .05% rates are not going to win me over.

Their rates on cards are definitely nothing to write home about for sure but they do send 3.99% BT offers in January (still not the best out there). I got them for their MM as I liked the tiers and rates (at the time was 4% on the first 2k). Then when I was car shopping they were having a deal with the lowest APR on a used car I could find.

Back when I joined it was geofenced but I hear that is no longer the case.
