Chase Checking Denial?

Hey guys, just received this message after applying for a Chase Total Checking account:

Could this be because Chase does a hard pull for a checking account? All 3 of my credit reports are currently frozen.

They soft pull for checking/savings, but if you do not have pre-existing relationship with them, they cannot even do that.

Is your EWS clean?

Yes, no issues at all with any banking relationship ever, and I am a current Chase card holder. Card has a 0% utility currently, PIF every month. I have never burned Chase in the past before either.

But you dont bank with Chase, right?

Just give them a call. If you're not in Chexsystem, it's proably something simple.

Correct, no banking relationship with them currently.

Have been with my Credit Union for the past 10+ years.

They could not SP. CC lending and "banking" end are separate.
Wait for the letter and see if they will SP once you lift lock/freeze without having to complete the application again.

Even if you opened account while in the branch, SP would still be needed.

Just a quick update, after unfreezing my reports I was able to get approved for a Total Checking/Savings account. Thanks for the assist!

Your credit freeze is the reason for the denial. Doesnt matter if they pull SP or HP.
