I now realize it would have been better off to get the money in my personal account. I processed it the regular way. Anyone done a recent Citi balance transfer to other cards? How long did it take to post and do they really send a physical check to each card?
11 days.
I requested a transfer on 09 October, and the amount just got credited to the other card today.
So yes, I assume that they actually sent a paper check.
Good luck!
I’ve had one in the works for just over a month. Yep - 32 days.
Opened Citi DC on 9/27/20. Activated on 10/1/20 (I know, I know, credit slacker), BTs on 3 cards for a temporary shuffle on 10/1/20. Two went through on 10/5/20. I don't use my Chase Unlimited all that often - so didn't check until a couple of days ago. Thought I'd just omitted Chase, or didn't hit the right button to complete it. Paid most of Chase in the meantime. Finally checked Citi this morning, and Citi has it listed as pending since 10/1! Ye gods. I didn't have the physical card (and number) with me, so will call tomorrow to find out why. 🤨
Update to the BT on Citi -
Citi says they sent a check to Chase on 10/5, but that Chase never cashed it.
Chase says they never got the check.
In the meantime, I'd paid Chase down and currently sits at $400, so now since the amount of the transfer payment is greater than the balance owed, it would muck things up further. So, I called Citi back and canceled the BT, and will just pay the card as usual.
I'm just gonna chalk it up to the Year 2020 vortex of weirdness. 😉
OP, did your BT go through?
